4 Tage Buenos Aires - Es ist mal wieder Zeit für was Neues! Wohl wissend, dass ich noch 2 Tage mit meinen Großeltern in Baires verbringen werde, entschloss ich einen Ausflug nach Montevideo zu machen. Es gibt zahlreiche Unternehmen, die Fahrten anbieten. Meine Wahl fiel letztendlich auf Colonia Express, 1.5h mit Fähre nach Colonia und dann 2h mit Bus nach Montevideo. Maximizer, der ich nunmal bin, sollte es am Sonntag ganz früh los gehen und Dienstagmorgen wieder zurück. Das führte letztendlich dazu, dass ich Samstag nach der Party direkt zur Fähre musste - mit kurzem Duschstop im Hostel.

4 days in Buenos Aires - It's time for something new! Knowing that I'll spend another 2 days with my grandparents in Baires I decided to plan a trip to Montevideo. There are numerous companies that offer connections between Argentina and Uruguay. Eventually, I chose Colonia Express - 1.5hrs to Colonia by ferry and 2hrs to Montevideo by bus. Maximizing as I am, I wanted to leave early in the morning on Sunday and return to Baires around noon on Tuesday. Finally, this led to a sleepless Saturday night. After the party and a quick shower in the hostel, I went straight to the ferry.

Der Tag begann schon recht grau in BA und auf der anderen Seite des Wassers wurde es auch nicht besser. Den leicht besaiteten Seekranken unter uns empfehle ich die Fahrt mit der Fähre bei dieser Wetterlage nicht. In Montevideo angekommen regnete es in Strömen. Da blieb mir nix Anderes übrig als mir die Zeit in einem Restaurant am Terminal mit einem ordentlichen Steak zu vertreiben. War das ein Traum!
Irgendwann hab ich es ins Viajero Hostel geschafft, was ich nur empfehlen kann. Dort hab ich gleich ein paar nette Brasilianer kennengelernt und wir sind am Nachmittag durch die Geisterstadt geschlendert. Ein absoluter Kulturschock nach dem wilden Treiben in BA, aber sehr nett und gemütlich. In dem Land leben nunmal so viele Menschen, wie in ganz Berlin und die Hauptstadt zählt etwa 1,5 Mio Einwohner. Es gibt wunderschöne Häuser zu bestaunen, Street Art ohne Ende und ein Spaziergang am Strand sollte man nicht auslassen. Ein besonderes Highlight war die Markthalle am Hafen. Wer hier hungrig rausgeht, ist selbst Schuld.

It was a gray start into the day in BA already and didn't get any better on the other side of the sea. I certainly wouldn't recommend the trip with the ferry to these seasick people among us - not with a rough wind like this. When I arrived in Montevideo it rained cats and dogs. I had no other choice but spending some time in a restaurant at the terminal eating a fabulous steak. It was awesome! Eventually, I arrived at the Viajero Hostel, which I can highly recommend, in the afternoon. I met some nice Brazilians and we went for a walk through the ghost town. It was a culture shock after a few days in BA, but very pretty and cozy. The whole country has as many citizens as Berlin and Montevideo accounts for half of the population. Nevertheless, there are beautiful houses with colorful fassades, street art everywhere and one shouldn't miss out on a walk along the beach. One of the biggest highlights was the market hall at the port. Whoever leaves this place hungry has done something wrong.
